40 Years of Rhondda Swimming Club

Rhondda Swimming Club was formed in 1975 with the opening of Rhondda Sports Centre. It has grown from nothing to a club of some 150 swimmers and 40 volunteers, and has competitors fighting it out in regional competitions and at Welsh national level.

Two of the club’s stalwarts, Glyn and Margaret Harris, reflect on the club’s history and how things have changed, including attitudes to health and safety and club organisation.
